Job Descriptions:
Archaeological Field Technician
Field Technicians are responsible for assisting Field Supervisors/Field Directors with:
– Field reconnaissance in rural or remote locations
– Shovel testing and mitigation projects
Field Technician candidates should possess:
– Ability to work in a team
– Physical capability of possibly demanding field work
– Prior archaeological experience ideal (but not required)
Archaeological Lab Technician
Lab Technicians are responsible for assisting Field Directors with:
– Cleaning and processing of artifacts
– Identification and cataloging of artifacts (Precontact and Historic)
Lab Technician candidates should possess:
– Time management skills
– Some knowledge of artifact types and materials
– Experience with cataloging and/or MIMS ideal
Archaeological Field Supervisor
Field Supervisors are responsible for assisting Field Directors with:
– Supervising field crew during archaeological shovel testing or mitigation projects
– Documenting field activities
– Coordinating with field directors
Field Supervisors should possess:
– A degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or related field
– Prior archaeological field experience
